Judul ArtikelKONSENTRASI VFA TOTAL, N-NH3, DAN SINTESIS PROTEIN MIKROBA RUMEN KAMBING YANG MENDAPAT SUPLEMENTASI SULFUR DAN ASAM ISOBUTIRAT SECARA IN VITRO
AbstrakPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi sulfur dan asam isobutirat terhadap konsentrasi VFA, N-NH3 dan sintesis protein mikroba pada kambing secara in vitro.Materi penelitian menggunakan cairan rumen kambing Jawarandu, pakan basal (60% rumput lapang, dedak padi 22%, pollard 3,3%, dan bungkil kelapa 14,67%), mineral sulfur dan asam isobutirat.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial 3x3.Peubah yang diukur adalah konsentrasi VFA total, N-NH3, dan sintesis protein mikroba.Taraf pemberian sulfur dan asam isobutirat yang disuplementasikan yaitu sulfur 0 % + asam isobutirat 0 mM (P1), sulfur 0 % + asam isobutirat 0,2 mM (P2), sulfur 0 % + asam isobutirat 0,4 mM (P3), sulfur 0,3 % + asam isobutirat 0 mM (P4), sulfur 0,3 % + asam isobutirat 0,2 mM (P5), sulfur 0,3 % + asam isobutirat 0,4 mM (P6), sulfur 0,6 % + asam isobutirat 0 mM (P7), sulfur 0,6 % + asam isobutirat 0,2 mM (P8), sulfur 0,6 % + asam isobutirat 0,4 mM (P9). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01)dalam meningkatkan konsentrasi VFA Total, N-NH3, dan Sintesis protein mikroba. Hasil rataan produksi VFA total berkisar antara 122,00–150,67 mM, rataan N-NH3 berkisar antara 10,47- 12,67 mM, sementara rataan SPM berkisar antara 2,93– 59,78 mg/ 20 ml cairan rumen.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsentrasi VFA total dan N-NH3 tertinggi diperoleh dari cairan rumen yang diberi 0,6% sulfur dan 0,2 mM asam isobutirat. Sedangkan, sintesis protein mikroba rumen terbaik dicapai oleh cairan rumen yang diberi 0,3% sulfur dan 0,2 mM asam isobutirat.
Abstrak (Inggris)The aim of this research was to mesure the impact of interaction between sulfur and isobutyric acid on VFA and N-NH3 concentrations and microbial protein synthesis in goat byin vitro. The materials used in this research weregoat rumen fluid, basal feed consisted ofwild grass 60%, rice bran 22%, pollard 3.3%, and coconut meal 14.67%, sulphur mineral, and isobutyric acid.This experimental research used completely randomized design (CRD)3x3 factorially. The treatments tested were the levels of mineral sulphur and isobutyric acidthat were supplemented in goat diet. The levels of supplemented mineral sulphur and isobutyric acidwere sulphur 0% + isobutiric acid 0 mM (P1); sulphur 0% + isobutiric acid 0.2 mM (P2), sulphur 0% + isobutiric acid 0.4 mM (P3), sulphur 0.3% + isobutiric acid 0 mM (P4), sulphur 0.3% + isobutiric acid 0.2 mM (P5), sulphur 0.3% + isobutiric acid 0.4 mM (P6), sulphur 0.6% + isobutiric acid 0 mM (P7), sulphur 0.6% + isobutiric acid 0.2 mM (P8), sulphur 0.6% + isobutiric acid 0.4 mM (P9). The results showed that the average values of total VFA production were between 122.00–150.67mM,the average values of N-NH3 were between 10.47- 12.67 mM, meanwhile the average values of microbial protein synthesis were between 2.93– 59.78mg/ 20 ml ruminal fluids. The results of variance analysis showed that the treatment increased total VFA, N-NH3 and microbial protein synthesis concentration very significantly (P<0.01). This experiment concludes that the best suplementation of sulfur and isobutyric acidthat increasestotal VFA and N-NH3 is atthe level0.6% sulphur and 0.2mM isobutiric acid. Meanwhile, the best interaction to increase microbialprotein synthesis is at thesupplementation 0.3% sulphur and 0.2 mM isobutiric acid.
